In a National Marine Park in Mozambique, lies an archipelago of offshore islands known as the Bazaruto Archipelago and commonly referred to as the “Crown Jewels of the Western Indian Ocean”. There are three main islands known as Margaruque, Benguera and Bazaruto. On the second-largest island, Benguera, which is the glittering gem in this chain of islands, lies the idyllic Marlin Lodge, in the perfect spot for a magical escape.

The island is set amid translucent waters, rich in marine life - an unspoiled paradise for those seeking a haven of peace, something extraordinary.

Mozambique is, quite litterally paradise with its opulently azure water and sunny, white beaches you will think you are in heaven.Go quad biking, jet skiing, fishing, kite surfing, snorkeling, beach bumming or game viewing and work up an appetite for some fantastic seafood.

 

Imagine a private sit down dinner for two on your patio watching the silver moon rising over a peaceful sea. Indulge in a unique African-style bush bath, the patio is transformed into a secluded bush hideaway, with two galvanised baths filled with warm water, bath salts and fragrant oils. 

Marlin Lodge is the ideal venue for honeymooners, couples and those seeking tranquility and solitude.

A visit to Marlin Lodge is a culinary delight. Dinners range from semi-formal in the dining room, to tables laid out on the beach at the end of an avenue of palm fronds and flaming torches. 

Scale the highest dune on the island, or enjoy a catered picnic on a deserted isle... Slip across the translucent waters on a sailboard, or fly the hull of a catamaran, and when the day comes to an end watch the sun set over the ocean, while softly sailing along on a dhow sundowner cruise.

 

The Bazaruto Archipelago is known to be one of the best game fishing sites in the Indian Ocean. The warm tropical waters surrounding the archipelago support an extensive variety of fish, coral, marine mammals and plants. A number of uncommercialised dive sites both near and further from the lodge wait to be explored.

 

A 4 day 3 night stay is recommended to enjoy all the island has to offer.

By Air: Johannesburg International Airport to Vilanculos International Airport (2 hours) Boat transfer - Donna Anna Jetty to Island (30 min)
