Victoria Falls Zambia White Water River Rafting

Reputed to be the best commercial 1 day white water rafting in the world.

July to October when water levels are low is the best time to Go Rafting.

Less intense than bungee jumping but not to be underestimated, gorge swing entails a 50m free fall into the gorge, followed by a series of back and forth swinging before being lowered into the gorge.

Abseiling

Visitors safely drop 53m down the side of the gorge, either facing the gorge or facing away. Climbers are fitted with a harness and make use of climbing ropes and pulleys.

Lion Walking

This one hour experience sees visitors walking with a couple of lion cubs running freely in the bush. Experienced guides accompany visitors to explain how the cubs act in their natural environment.

Did You Know?
... these interesting facts about Victoria Falls:

The river's annual flood season is February to May with a peak in April, The spray from the falls typically rises to a height of over 400 metres (1,300 ft), and sometimes even twice as high, and is visible from up to 50 km (30 miles) away. At full moon, a "moonbow" can be seen in the spray instead of the usual daylight rainbow.

The first European to see the falls was David Livingstone on 17 November 1855, Livingstone was so impressed he gave them their English name in honour of Queen Victoria. He wrote of the falls, "No one can imagine the beauty of the view from anything witnessed in England. It had never been seen before by European eyes; but scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight."

While Victoria Falls is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, it is claimed to be the largest, it is the largest single curtain of falling water in the world, 1708 meters (5604 ft) wide and 110 metres (360 ft) deep - more that twice the size of Niagara
